The state logged 1,562 new cases, 1,149 in Chennai, taking the case tally to 33,229. The new cases included 42 returnees to various parts of TN – including 22 from Maharashtra, nine from Qatar and three from Kuwait. Three of the 17 people reported dead on Monday had no co-morbidities.
